Z-Pods can be interchanged between any of the Gen 5 Z-Series lighting fixtures and come in temperatures ranging from 2700K~5000K. Each Z-Pod has a color assigned frame that corresponds which temperature the Z-Pod is, with red being 2700K, orange being 3000K, light-blue being 4000K, and royal-blue being 5000K. Inscribed on the frames is also the temperature number, e.g. 3000 for 3000K, in case you're not sure. Magnets hold the Z-Pods to the case with enough strength to hold them upside down, yet don't require any considerable effort on your end to remove them. Z-Pods come pre-wired, so all you have to do is unplug and plug when switching out Z-Pods. 

The current benefit of Z-Pods is the ability to switch out different temperatures for different purposes. This approach follows the proven success of older tech, i.e. HID (high intensity discharge), and methods, such as using higher temperatures during vegging, like 5000K, and using lower temperatures during flowering, like 3000K. While this benefit is well-worthy, it doesn't fully capture the vision of the Z-Pod. As with all LED related technology, it's constantly evolving, and the Vero-LED technology we incorporate comes in at no exception. Over the past few years, the Vero 29 COB-LED has been updated and improved on average once a year, boasting a considerable raise in operating efficiency and lumen output from earlier generations. While keeping this trend in mind, we should see a new generation of Vero technology sometime in 2018, which means this year's Vero 29 will be slightly outdated. This is where the Z-Pod comes into the picture as a cost-effective approach to keeping fixtures up-to-date with the latest technology, without having to replace and switch out fixtures.
